Well this year has been a roller coaster of a ride!!! Wicked weather and wicked winds have made this year's Walleye fishing on the Detroit River a challenge for sure, however, we have managed to smash up the fish as usual!!!
The fish really turned on this past week as the weather and water warmed up! We were routinely boating a Walleye every few minutes this past weekend managing limits for almost all of my clients! It's been great and will continue to be great throughout the month of May, 2018. Tons of males 2 years old or so are being caught providing many dinner tables with fresh fish!!
I STRONGLY encourage all of you to use a stinger hook!!! The bite, as usual, has been very light and often you will miss the fish without a stinger hook. If you do miss a fish...jig it slow a couple of times and you may find the fish hitting again allowing you to make your catch!
Dark colour FinS 4" minnow soft plastics have still been the ticket with the water being dirty, however, even bright colours have been working wonders for myself and my clients. Don't give up! You'll get your fish if you stick to it, jig slowly and put in your time.
I am often hired by fishermen who have their own boats to learn the ropes on the river and I'll continue to pass my knowledge and experience forward. Unlike many other Charter Captains I will share any and all information I can with you to help you get on the fish. There's plenty to go around so no need to worry!
Contact me today to book your trip and take advantage of my years of experience! I'll show you how, where, and what to do to make SURE you go home with your limit of fish!
